2026 Easter Egg Hunt

April 5, 2026 – On a glorious spring morning, Easter Sunday April 5th, the Kiwanis Club of Lake Stevens carried on a beloved 49-year tradition as hundreds of families gathered at Highland Elementary School for the club’s annual Easter Egg Hunt — free to every child in the community. Children ages 1–11 clutched their baskets and buckets behind the starting rope, bursting with anticipation before the signal sent them scrambling across the field to collect colorful plastic eggs filled with candy and small prizes.

Lucky egg-finders discovered special tokens redeemable for grand prizes including Easter baskets, large stuffed bunnies, and scooters, making for squeals of delight all around. The Easter Bunny himself arrived in style, delivered to the event aboard a Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue Station 81 fire truck, thrilling kids and parents alike.

The event ran flawlessly thanks to the dedicated volunteers of Boy Scout Troop 41, the Lake Stevens High School Key Club, and Kiwanis Club members, all under the expert coordination of Kiwanis member Kathy Fox. Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers for their efforts, and especially Kathy Fox and her team for making it look so seamless! We’d also like to thank the Easter Bunny of course, the Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue Station 81 crew, and our fabulous announcer Anthony Morea.

It was a beautiful reminder of what serving the children of Lake Stevens truly looks like — neighbors coming together to give kids a safe, joyful, and memorable celebration at no cost. Events like this one are exactly why kids need Kiwanis.

Mark your calendars — the Lake Stevens Kiwanis Club looks forward to welcoming the community back for the 50th Annual Easter Egg Hunt next Easter! To learn more about our club and upcoming events, visit us at lskiwanis.org.

Kiwanis Assists Ebenezer Lutheran’s Community Supper

🍽️ Community Strength, One Meal at a Time

March 19, 2026 – We were honored to partner with Ebenezer Lutheran Church this week to host another Community Supper. There is something incredibly powerful about coming together to serve our neighbors. Our Kiwanis volunteers jumped into the kitchen to help serve hot meals to those in need right here in Lake Stevens.

It wasn’t just about the food—it was about the smiles, the conversation, and the reminder that no one in our community has to go it alone.A huge thank you to the team at Ebenezer Lutheran for their continued dedication to this program and for letting us join in their mission. 💙💛

Lake Stevens Kiwanis Christmas Baskets Help Local Families in Need

It’s the Lake Stevens Kiwanis Elves Brigade assembling Christmas baskets for some local families in need. Thanks to all those that got up early and shared a little of their weekend to make a few family’s Christmas a little brighter & joyful. Lake Stevens Winterfest 2025 Gets A Visit From Santa!

Fun times and another successful Kiwanis Winterfest celebration! We had a booth where we handed out hot drinks and cookies. We also put in a request for a visit from Santa, and here he is with one of his elves! So plenty of kids (and a few parents) were able to get a picture with Santa! Thank you to the City of Lake Stevens for putting on the event, to BSA Troop 41 for assisting in our Kiwanis booth, to the Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue Station 81 for bringing Santa from the fire station (where his sleigh and reindeer were tended to), and especially to Nicole Perez and Tosha Edwards for organizing and setup of the Kiwanis booth! And especially to Santa and his elve for dropping by!

Thanksgiving Baskets For Those In Need

Each year in November one of our favorite and most fulfilling projects is collecting food & creating baskets of food for five local families in need. In conjunction with the Lake Stevens Boys & Girls club, we collect food at the Lake Stevens Haggens store over two days. The collected food is organized and transported to the Boys & Girls Club, where a group of Kiwanis and Key Club volunteers assemble the baskets of food. The five families (chosen by the Boys & Girls Club) then pick up their baskets and are able to have a bountiful Thanksgiving meal. Thanks to Kathy & Alan Fox for organizing the project, and of course thanks to all the other Kiwanians and Key Club members for their generous donation of their time. And a special thanks to the Boys & Girls Club for their help as well.

Another Successful Grade Road Cleanup!

September 27, 2025 – One way our club is giving back to the community – In cooperation with the City, we clean litter and debris four times a year along Grade Road. On a beautiful Saturday morning we met across from the fire station and cleaned the shoulders of Grade Road from Hartford Drive to Highway 92. Many thanks to the City of Lake Stevens Parks and Recreation Department for providing the equipment necessary. And lest we forget, thanks to our volunteers pictured above, from left to right: Tosha Edwards, Jackie Fox, Billy Fox, Kathy Fox, Nicole. Perez, Sarah Jennings, Mike Radovich, Gary Jennings, Darwin Smith, Sarah Tallman & Natalie Tallman.

Following our cleanup of Grade Road, we met at one of our favorite places, Fuente De Cafe for a sumptuous breakfast and good conversation.
