Founded on the principles of caring, compassion, and community, Lake Stevens Kiwanis is part of a global organization that spans over 80 countries and boasts thousands of clubs worldwide. The Lake Stevens Kiwanis is committed to fostering positive change in Lake Stevens, creating opportunities for children and families to thrive.
What We Do
Lake Stevens Kiwanis College & Vocational Scholarships
The Lake Stevens Kiwanis club’s signature goal is yearly grants to deserving Lake Stevens High School graduates. Prospective graduates apply through their school counselor. The completed applications are reviewed and ranked by a committee of Kiwanis members. Scholarships are awarded at an awards banquet held at the high school.
Lake Stevens Kiwanis Aquafest Beer Garden
This is our most significant project, occuring in July of each year in conjunction with the Lake Stevens Aquafest festival. The Beer Garden runs for three nights, with beer, wine and food provided by local vendors. Proceeds each year go to paying scholarships with the remaining proceeds invested for future growth.
Easter Egg Hunt
Each spring the Lake Stevens Kiwanis sets up and hosts an easter egg hunt, with a variety of prizes, including scooters and bikes for youth. Admission is free, and includes a visit by the Easter Bunny, facilitated by our local Snohomish Regional Fire District Station 81 personnel.
Service Leadership – The Lake Stevens Kiwanis LSHS Key Club
Working in conjunction with the Lake Stevens High School Administration & faculty, our Kiwanis club sponsors and encourages the Lake Stevens High School Key Club, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We support Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings & provide mentorships.
Other Lake Stevens Kiwanis Projects & Activities
Movie Nights – We host family friendly movies at the local Boys & Girls club, admission is free
Valentines Party – We put on a valentines party each year for the members
Christmas Party – We put on a Christmas party each year for the members
Winterfest – We participate in the annual city Winterfest celebration
Gaming by the Lake – We encourage healthy outdoors recreation by adults and youth by participating in this event, which consists of playing various non-electronic games
